The picture shows a view of both sides of the (2) Different Early Metal Clothing Buttons in this lot. The years that these were made or used are unknown but they are both old. The left one appears to be made of copper and the right one brass. Both of them have some designs and lettering, but we can not identify them. They may be from as early as the Revolutionary War era. They are similar to military uniform buttons that we have seen, but we are not sure. These are both single pieces of metal like a coin or token. The left button measures about 7/8'' wide and the right one is about 3/4'' wide. Please see the picture for the conditions. Both are missing the back loop or shank as pictured.
