The picture below shows larger views of all (4) Unused ©1954 Woman of Rome Romance Drama Movie Ad Mat Molds in this lot. The ad mats are not dated but they are from 1954 when this movie was made. The original title was “LA ROMANA”. These are molds in which lead is poured to create a thin metal negative image that is then mounted on a wooden block for printing. Advertising is no longer made or printed like this.

The ad mats are like a miniature 3-D posters and would look nice framed, or you could still use them to make print blocks. The print block would have been used to print on movie pages in newspapers, in magazines, or in the movie theater program schedules. It is made of a thick compressed paper board. Each of these admats have an image of a scene with Gina Lollobrigida lying down. They are marked as follows:

“SHOULD TEACH THE GIRLS WHILE … IT ENTICES THE BOYS!” - N.Y. POST
BASED ON ALBERTO MORAVIA'S STARTLING BEST SELLER “WOMAN OF ROME”
GINA LOLLOBRIGIDA IN “WOMAN OF ROME”
