|The pictures show a front and back view of all (10) Old Saint Christopher Transportation Safety Religious Medallions in this lot. This is an accumulated lot. There are (8) different ones, and (2) duplicates included here. These are not dated but they are old. (7) are made of metal and (3) are plastic. Some have loops for use as pendants or charms on necklaces, or on keychains. One is an unopened key chain. Others here were made to attach to the dashboards of your car or boat for protection while traveling.|
All of these have an image of St. Christopher. One has an image of the Virgin Mary. Others also have images of Angels, old or antique automobiles, ocean liner or cruise ships, airplanes, and the key chain also has a train. All that are pictured for one price! To judge the sizes the card that the keychain is on measures 1-13/16'' x 2-3/4''. These appear to vary from fair to mint condition as pictured. One of the smaller charms is missing the loop. Below here, for reference, is some additional information about St. Christopher medals and medallions:
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Medallions with St. Christopher's name and image are commonly worn as pendants, especially by travelers, to show devotion and as a request for his blessing. Miniature statues are frequently displayed in automobiles. In French a widespread phrase for such medals is ''Regarde St Christophe et va-t-en rassurŽ'' (''Look at St Christopher and go on reassured''); Saint Christopher medals and holy cards in Spanish have the phrase ''Si en San Crist—bal conf’as, de accidente no morir‡s'' (''If you trust St. Christopher, you won't die in an accident''). In Austria an annual collection for providing vehicles for the use of missionaries is taken up on a Sunday close to the feast of Saint Christopher, asking people to contribute a very small sum of money for every kilometer that they have traveled safely during the year.
