Interesting Old Mechanical Sand Card
Mechanical   Novelty   Hobo   Wine   Bathroom   Card
The picture shows both sides of this Interesting Old Colorful Mechanical Sand Card. Inside this thick card are two containers holding sand that when tipped works like an hourglass. The first side pictured in the scan has a wine vendor holding a basket of wine bottles as he smokes a cigarette. Next to him is a hobo drinking a bottle of wine. As the card is tipped the purple dyed sand appears to go in the man's mouth.

The second side shows the same hobo in a bathroom or outhouse. As the card is tipped tan sand flows downward. The only marking on this card is "Made In Japan". The card is not dated but believed to be from the 1940's. It measures the size of a post card 3-1/2" x 5-1/2" and it is in mint condition. The line seen in the picture is not damage it is a light reflection from the slightly raised sand compartment area.
