Large Early Colorful Rude Valentine
Valentine   Card   Paper   Cat   Music   Nostalgic
The picture shows this Large Early Colorful Rude Valentine. It pictures a young girl in a colorful dress with a rose singing from a songsheet entitled

"DISTANCE LENDS ENCHANTMENT"

There is a black cat in the background. It was made in the U.S.A.. There were many companies who gave these out as premiums years ago, including Cereal companies, Cracker Jack, and Checkers Popcorn Confection, but this one I do not know what series it came from. It is not dated but believed to be from the 1920's or 1930's. The poem reads as follows:

OH! YOU UP - ROAR SINGER
YOU BELIEVE YOURSELF A PRIMA DONNA,
AND HAVE THE WORLD AT YOUR FEET,
BUT ALL THE NEIGHBORS ON YOUR BLOCK,
SAY THE OLD CAT HAS YOU BEAT.

It measures 7-1/16" x 10". It is in good condition with the wrinkling, spotting, and edge wear that can be seen in the picture.
