The picture shows a view of all (5) Small Old Porcelain Butter Pat Plates in this lot. These are all different. These are not dated but they are old. Most butter pat plates had been used in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Butter pats were usually part of a large china or dinnerware set. They were used at a time when store bought butter did not exist. Butter would be molded and stamped with a design and placed on these small individual serving plates. Between the thousands of designs that were made and their small size they have become an excellent collectible item. They also make a nice size plate for Victorian dolls.

All of these plates are round. All of these have a Flower pattern or print and gold trim. To judge the sizes the bottom left one measures about 3-1/4'' wide. These appear to be in good to very good condition as pictured. Four of the five have age crazing. Two of these are marked, the center one and the bottom left one. They are marked as follows:

(crown)
ROYAL
SEMI PORCELAIN
WOOD & SON
ENGLAND
