The picture shows a view of this Colorful Old Unused Man In The Moon Paper & Wood Top Flite Kite. The kite is not dated but it is old. It is believed to be from the 1920s or 1930s. It has been unrolled only once ever to take the picture. The round items seen at the corners are only magnets used to hold the kit open for the picture. There is a string in the edge seam all around and the two notched wooden sticks are included. There is no string to fly the kite or a tail included. The kite is imprinted in red and blue on white paper. It pictures a full moon with a face, planets, stars, and the Earth, as well as instructions near the bottom. It is marked as follows: THE MAN IN THE MOON TOP FLITE CRUNDEN - MARTIN MANUFACTURING CO. ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI The kite measures about 27-1/2'' x 33''. It appears to be in mint as made condition as pictured. |
