| | | | The picture below shows larger view of this Colorful Old Italian Micro Mosaic Floral Costume Jewelry Brooch Pin. The pin is not dated and the year that it was made is unknown. It is simply marked "ITALY" on the back but the maker is unknown. The pin is made of many small colorful micro mosaic pieces in the shape of an arrangement or bouquet of flowers and leaves. These are all made by hand by Artists, Craftsmen, and women with tiny canes of different thin cut colored and patterned glass pieces called tessarae. The pin base section is made of a gold colored metal. We do not see any markings and it has not been tested for gold. The brooch pin measures about 2-1/8'' x 1-5/8''. It appears to be in mint condition as pictured. |
