The picture shows a view of this Old Magazine Apprentice Advertising Neck Tie Bar. The year this was made or used is unknown but it is old. there is an applied brass plate section on a silver color metal bar. The black lettering and background is enameled. The brass section has a raised image of a magazine in the center and is marked as follows:

THE AMERICAN MAGAZINE
COLLIERS
The back of the tiebar section reads as follows:
SWANK KLIP
PAT. NO. 1714540

The patent number is from 1929. The necktie bar measures 2-5/8'' long. It is in excellent condition as pictured.
