|The picture shows a view of both sides of this Unused 1940s World War II Town Talk Bread Advertising Premium Book Cover. One side had advertising for and pictures a loaf of Town Talk bread with two running school children. The inset image is of a family and reads ''U.S. NEEDS US STRONG - EAT THE BASIC 7 EVERY DAY''. At the bottom it reads ''THIS SCHOOL BOOK COVER IS DISTRIBUTED IN THE INTEREST OF THE NATIONAL WARTIME NUTRITION PROGRAM''.|
The other side of the book cover has instructions on the edge. It also pictures and names ''MEDALS FOR VALOR'' including: Distinguished Service Cross (Army - Marines), Navy Cross (Navy, Marines, Coast Guard), Purple Heart (Army, Marines), Silver Star (Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard), and Distinguished Flying Cross (Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard). Below the medals are images of children helping out in the homefront war effort. That section is marked as follows:
HERE'S HOW YOU, TOO, CAN SERVE YOUR COUNTRY
Save Waste Paper
Buy War Stamps
Help In Victory Garden
Work After School
Opened the book cover measures 15-3/4'' x 10-7/8''. The book cover appears to be in excellent unused condition as pictured. At the moment the top and bottom edges are stuck together, but they can easily be steamed and opened. That will be left up to the buyer to decide. Also, this book cover was found after being stored away for many years. It does have an old paper musty smell to it and it will need to be aired out.
