The picture shows a view of this 1939 - 1940 New York World's Fair Glass & Metal Advertising Souvenir Ashtray. The base and ships anchor are made of cast metal (perhaps aluminum) and the ashtray itself is clear glass. The anchor is mounted on the base with a nut on the bottom. On the anchor is a medallion that pictures the Trylon & Perisphere. It is marked as follows:

TRYLON AND PERISPHERE
WORLDS FAIR NEW YORK

There is a decorative border around the edge of the base. The bottom is painted red and the rest is painted a bronze or copper color. There are two slots for cigarettes. The original glass tray rests in a hole made for it. The nut from the anchor is over part of the marking on the bottom which reads:

A???AR
POINT MARION PA.

To judge the size the base section measures 4-7/8'' x 3-1/4''. It is in very good condition with some wear from use as pictured. The nut (and only the nut) on the bottom has some rust.
