The pictures show views of this Old Bike Whistles Store Advertising Box & Tin Whistle in this lot. Neither the box nor the whistle are dated but they are believed to be from the 1910s or 1920s. This type tin whistle was purchased by The Cracker Jack Company in quantity and used as prizes in the pop corn confection boxes. They used them in silver, painted in various colors, and embossed ''CRACKER JACK'' as well. The box is a (120) count box that was sold wholesale to stores or novelty catalogs. There is only one example whistle that is included that came from this box. The box is marked on the top and sides as follows:

BIKE WHISTLES
A REALLY SWELL WHISTLE FOR BOYS OR GIRLS
YOU CANNOT BUY A BETTER WHISTLE
BIKE WHISTLES
120 COUNT
1c BIKE WHISTLES
P. F. KAHLER CO.
81 S. 19th ST. PITTSBURGH 3, PA.

The box measures 11-1/4'' x 4-3/4'' x 1-1/8'' and the whistle measures 2-1/8'' long. The tin whistle is in mint unused condition and the box has some age spotting as pictured.
