The picture shows a front and back view of this 1940 Boston Sunday Herald Newspaper Spelling Bee Award Medal. At the top there is a red, white, and blue ribbon on a pin section. Hanging from it is a bronze or brass medal. The medal has two images. One appears to be a headless angel and the other is a paperboy running with newspapers. It is marked on the two sides as follows:

SPELLING BEE
1940
THE BOSTON HERALD
THE TRAVELER SUNDAY HERALD
GRADE CHAMPION

It is unknown what grade this medal was for. The medal with the ribbon measures 3-1/4'' tall. It is in near mint to mint condition as pictured.
