The pictures show views of this Unused 1939 Boston Police Relief Association Concert & Ball Ticket & Envelope. The first picture shows the envelope and the front of the unused ticket. The second picture shows the back of the ticket. The envelope pictures a Boston police officer badge and the ticket pictures Joseph F. Timilty the Police Commissioner in 1939. The ticket and the envelope have matching numbers #5945 and both are also dated Wednesday, December 6, 1939. The event was held at Boston Garden. The concert was at 8 O'Clock and the Grand March was at 9 O'Clock. This $2.00 ticket admitted a gentleman and two ladies, tax exempt.

The music was by Charlie Friedman and His Orchestra. The proceeds of the Concert and Ball were devoted to the fund of the Boston Police Relief Association for the assistance of members who may, by sickness or other cause, become unfit for duty. The ticket has a Union marking and was printed by The Libbie Printing Company of Boston, Massachusetts. The ticket measures about 5-1/2'' x 3-3/8'' and the envelope is slightly larger. The ticket appears to be in mint unused condition and the envelope has a name (?) written and only light wear as pictured.
