1898 New York Charter Day Celebration Celluloid Pin Back Button
New York   Pinback Button   Advertising   Celluloid
The picture shows a view of this 1898 New York Charter Day Celebration Celluloid Pin Back Button. I am not sure if this is from New York City or New York State. It was made by the Whitehead & Hoag Company of Newark, New Jersey. It is marked as such and has patent dates as well on the paper insert in the back. The pin has a seal / emblem in the center and reads:

CHARTER DAY CELEBRATION
NEW YORK,
MAY 3, 4, & 5, 1898
SIGILLUM CIVITATIS
NOVI EBORACI

It measures 7/8" wide and is in only fair condition with age cracking as can be seen in the scan.
