| | | | The picture below shows a view of the cover and a few pages of this Old Catholic Truth Society of Ireland - Life In New York: An Emigrant’s Experience Booklet. We did not find a date on this booklet but it is believed to be from the early 1900s. The (36) page soft cover booklet is all about the detailed emigrant’s first hand account of conditions, disappointments, views, attitudes, hardships, and much, much more. The emigrant had stayed in America, and even traveled some over their 13 year stay before returning homesick and disappointed to Ireland. It seems very well written. On the inside front cover is information about The Catholic Truth Society of Ireland. On the inside and outside back cover is a long list of “SOME OF THE PENNY PUBLICATIONS” such as this one. The booklet measures about 4-3/4'' x 7-1/4''. The pages inside appear to be in excellent condition. The cover has some discoloration, wear, and a bottom corner missing on the front as pictured. |
