| | | | The picture below shows a larger view of this colorful ©1948 Kellogg's Corn Flakes Cereal Premium F-87 Curtiss Super Jet Plane Toy Ring Advertisement. This advertisement is in a Des Moines Sunday Register newspaper comic strip section. It is dated November 14, 1948. It pictures a close up view of the toy ring, children launching the plane from the ring, a Mother, a box of Corn Flakes, Lee Miller. Jet Test Pilot of Curtiss - Wright, and the ring again on the unused order form. To obtain the F-87 Super Jet Plane Ring in 1948 you only had to mail in 20c and one Kelloggs Corn Flakes box top with the order form. The adjustable ring is made of brass and the jet is made of black plastic. It is launched from with the push of a small secret launching trigger or lever that is on the top of the ring. More details are in the text of the ad. There is no ring included with this advertisement. The old ad measures about 14-1/2'' x 7-5/8''. It appears to be in excellent condition with a few small tears at the bottom and a fold crease as pictured.
