The picture shows a view of this Old Army Artillery Battalion Native American Indian Insignia Pin. The pin is not dated but it is old. The exact year it was made or used is unknown. It appears to be made of bronze or copper. It features a Native American Indian with two feathers. Below is a banner or ribbon that is marked as follows:

VINCERE EST VIVERE

The back is marked as follows:

ROBBINS CO.
ATTLEBORO

The pin measures 1-1/4'' tall. It is in good condition as pictures with most of the red enameling on the banner gone. For reference, below here is some information that was found about this pin:

Distinctive Unit Insignia.
Description: A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height overall, consisting of the gold bust of a Native American affrontZ attired with two feathers. Attached below a red scroll inscribed "VINCERE EST VIVERE" in gold letters.

Symbolism: The bust of the Native American is adapted from the seal of Massachusetts as cut in 1628.

Background: The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 101st Field Artillery on 18 Jun 1931; redesignated for the 212th Field Artillery Battalion on 10 Aug 1942; redesignated for the 212th Armored Field Artillery Battalion on 24 Nov 1942; redesignated for the 212th Field Artillery Battalion on 11 Feb 1954; redesignated for the 211th Artillery on 12 Jun 1961; redesignated for the 211th Field Artillery on 24 Jul 1972 and redesignated on 18 Oct 1993, for the 101st Field Artillery, with description revised.
