| | | | The picture shows a front and back view of this Rare World War II United States Military Service Star Flag Key Chain Charm. The service star flag indicated that you had a family member in the service, usually during wartime. The number of stars indicated how many family members were enlisted. Flags would be hung in home windows and pins with the flags were worn on clothing. It is unknown who had made this one, but after World War II the Disabled American Veterans made these with auto license plates on them to raise money. The ones from during WWII are difficult to find. This one has an original red, white, and blue cloth ribbon still attached. Not counting the ribbon the charm measures about 1/2'' x 1-5/16''. It is in fair condition as pictured. The ribbon is faded and there is spotting on the flag. |
