Fraternal   Medal   Award   Gold   Yarborough Lodge
The picture shows this 1932 Gold Yarborough - 551 Medal In It's Original Presentation Case. The picture shows the medal in it's case and a closer view of the front and back of the medal. I honestly do not know anything about this medal. It appears to be from a fraternal organization like the Masons. I will write all I can to describe it for you. All of the gold pieces of this medal are marked. The top floral piece has a long straight pin attatched on the back. Both the top & bottom floral parts are marked on the back "GK&S" and "6 (sideways) .375". The center section that reads "Yarborough - 551" is marked on the back ".375". That piece is on a light blue cloth ribbon. The Ring is also marked "6 (sideways) .375". The medal itself is an eight point star with two items over a turquoise background. One is an ornate carpenters square and the other, also ornate, is a rectangle with the letter "Y" inside. Besides the following inscription the back of this part has the same gold markings as the others with two additional ones. One is a "q" in a circle and the other appears to be a lion's head in a circle. Now for the engraved inscription on the back, it reads:

Yarborough Lodge No.551
Presented To
Wor. Bro. H.J. Borton P.M.
in appreciation of his services as W.M.
Feb. 16th 1932

The Presentation box is dark green with a gold border edge design around the edges of the top. It is silk lined and cushioned inside a decorative wreath it reads:

G.Kenning & Son. London. Liverpool. Manchester. Glasgow

The Box has a spring button on the side to open, it has a hinged lid. Closed it measures 4-3/8" x 2-1/8" x 7/8". The medal measures 4" long. The box is in near mint condition with only very light wear and the medal appears to be mint. I am curious if anyone knows anything about this item. If you have additional information please e-mail me.
