The picture shows two views of this Old Wooden Bookshelf Ross Transistor Radio.

This is a very interesting radio. It is made of wood that appears to be mahogany. It looks like a miniature book shelf full of books. The top opens up like a console stereo or jewelry box. When you open the top you see a small radio with two knobs. This section is marked

"SOLID STATE" and "ROSS"

There is a volume control and an AM tuning dial with Civil Defense arrows. There is a button within the right hinge that will turn the radio off if the lid is closed.

The other side under the cover is a compartment to hold jewelry or coins. There is a brown speaker grill in the back. The bottom has two legs or feet. The bottom section is hinged with a hook closure.

When opened you can see all of the radio's parts. It is marked on the bottom

"NO. 204 - MADE IN JAPAN".

The radio does play and uses a 9 volt battery. It is not dated but believed to be from the 1960's. The entire radio measures 7-1/4" x 4-1/8" x 3-1/8". It is in excellent condition with only light wear from use.
