The picture shows a view of all (5) Small Old Porcelain Butter Pat Plates in this lot. There are three that match and and another pair that match. These are not dated but they are old. Most butter pat plates had been used in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Butter pats were usually part of a large china or dinnerware set. They were used at a time when store bought butter did not exist. Butter would be molded and stamped with a design and placed on these small individual serving plates. Between the thousands of designs that were made and their small size they have become an excellent collectible item. They also make a nice size plate for Victorian dolls.

All of these plates are round. Three of these have a pattern or print and gold trim. The other two have a print in gold. To judge the sizes the three that match each measure about 3-1/4'' wide. These appear to be in very good condition as pictured. They have age crazing. None of these are marked.
