| | | | The picture shows the cover as well as six (reduced in size) images that are inside this 1883 "GEMS OF ART" Booklet. The booklet consists of (9) pages of heavy card stock paper. The cover has the title "GEMS OF ART" in fancy penwork, trees, birds, and an embossed gold frame with a beautiful young girl portrait. The pages are connected in the upper left corner with a red ribbon. The inside card pages each have a different applied image of a very beautiful young girl. Counting the cover there are (7) young girls in all. The first page inside is printed in red with the contents and titles of the pictures. It reads: IDEAL HEADS,

6. PRAIRIE FLOWER. The images seen in the picture are mounted on cards with a nice border around each (not seen) and at the bottom of each of the cards it reads "COPYRIGHT, C. T. & Co., 1883". This is a great old item! The back cover pictures some type of thistle plant. Each card page measures 6-1/4" x 8-1/4". All of the images are in mint condition. Two other things to mention are that the cover has come disconnected at the ribbon because of the corner tip is missing. The back cover has the lower left corner tip missing as well. These last two things do not affect the great beautiful images inside which can and should be framed seperately. |
