Letter Opener   Advertising   Premium   Knife
The picture shows this old Samuel Usher, German Made Advertising Letter Opener. Shown is the letter opener as well as a close up of the handle and the German markings on the blade. The handles appear to be made of brass or bronze and the blade appears to be made of steel. The handle has raised lettering and the other side is exactly the same. It reads:

 SAMUEL USHER
 THE FORTHILL PRESS
 FINE PRINTING BOSTON

There is a mark to the right of the company's name that looks like a bee hive. The blade reads:

 W.A. ANDERSON & CO.
 GERMANY

The letter opener measures about 8-1/8" long. This is a nicely crafted opener! There is no date. It is in near mint condition.
