Immigrant   Historical   Americana   Book
The picture shows the cover and first page of this Old "I AM AN AMERICAN" What Every Citizen Should Know Book. It is a spiral bound book with a gold printed simulated leather cover. It was compiled and edited by Frances Cavanah and Lloyd E. Smith and published by The Whitman Publishing Company. I believe that this was a book used by immigrants to become an american citizen. The 128 pages are loaded with text on what it says "What Every (American) Citizen Should Know", which includes things such as the Constitution, Declaration Of Independence, Bill Of Rights, Speeches, Flags, History, etc.. It is not dated but believed to be from the 1930's - 1940's. Closed it measures 4-1/4" x 5-5/8" and it is in mint condition.
