The pictures show views of this Old Unused Boxed AMCO Gold Overlay Costume Jewelry Earring Set With Red Stones. The earrings are in their original hinged box with a tan velvet insert. The year that these were made or sold is unknown but the set is old. The earrings have a white gold overlay and they have nice deep red faceted Tyrol-Stone stones that look like rubies. The beautiful red color does not show up well in the pictures below. These earrings have screw backs that are marked as follows:

AMCO 14K G.O.

The gold jewelry box has a silver and blue foil sticker on the velvet and a sticker under the insert. These read as follows:

TYROL - STONE
14K WHITE GOLD OVERLAY
E6633
AMCO

To judge the sizes the face of the earrings measure about 3/4'' x 5/8''. The set is in mint unused condition as pictured. Below here, for reference, is some information that was found on a jewelry website about AMCO jewelry:

AMCO: 1919 - Late 1970's

A. Micallef & Co., Inc. was founded in 1919 in Providence, Rhode Island producing AMCO costume jewelry. The company produced lines of costume jewelry with designs resembling fine quality jewelry, bezel set in sterling silver, gold filled and gold plated metals using rhinestones and other imitation stones, simulated gemstones and cultured and faux pearls. Their jewelry, elegant and classic in designs of necklaces, bracelets, earrings, cameo brooches, pendants and rings, has the quality of Krementz with finishes not wearing off and said to have held up through the years. Marks: ''STERLING AMCO'', ''1/20 12K Gold Filled AMCO'', ''20 12K G.F. AMCO'', ''AMCO 14K GF''. AMCO costume jewelry has never been cheap and is sought after by collectors. The A. Micallef Company ceased operations in the late 1970's.
