The picture shows two views of this Old Metal & Wood Lowneys Candy Confection Counter Display Base. The year that this was made is unknown but it is believed to be from the early 1900s. It is unknown what the top section of this base looks like. It was most likely some shelves that held candies or candy bars. The bottom is made of wood and the rest is formed sheet metal. It is painted gold and has lettering on all four sides. The lettering is in red and black. The two sides are marked as follows:

LOWNEY'S CHOCOLATES
CHOCOLATES AND BON BONS

The Walter M. Lowney Company is no longer in business. They were from Cambridge and Boston, Massachusetts, and Montreal, Canada. They were in operation from the 1800s to the 1990s. The last of the company's product line now belongs to Hersheys.

This display base measures 15'' x 9'' x 2-3/4''. It is in good condition with wear as pictured.
