The pencil is not bent as it appears in the picture, It was not fully closed when it was photographed. The pencil is made of metal and plastic. We have not filled or tried the lighter so it is being sold as is. The pencil works and it has lead inside. It is marked as follows: STEWART PAT. PEND. U.S.A. (on the clip)
