Colorful Old Childrens Tin Dime Register Savings Bank
Children   Tin   Dime   Register   Bank   Toy
The pictures show views of this Colorful Old Childrens Tin Dime Register Savings Bank. Shown is the front and back as well as the bottom. The year that this bank was made is unknown but it is believed to be from the 1930s. It appears to be in the shape of an old refrigerator. The bank design may have been used with different graphics. It has some nice colorful graphic images on it and the instructions are on the bottom. There is a register window on the front that changes each time a dime is entered in the slot on top. It registers up to $5.00 in dimes (50) and opens when that number is reached.

On the front there is a scene with elves saving dimes. One is holding a lantern and a battle ax. One is waving his hat, and one is rolling a Mercury dime into a pile with others. The year on the dime looks like 1937.

On the back is a scene with a mother emptying the bank into a girls purse. The boy in the baseball uniform is carrying a baseball glove and a bat. He looks like he wishes he had saved money too. There is also a small dog at the bottom watching.

There is no manufacturers name only ''PATENTS PENDING'' and ''MADE IN U.S.A.''. The bank measures 3-3/4'' x 5'' x 1-7/8''. It is in excellent condition as pictured, but unfortunately it is missing the door. It could be easily replaced if one is found. Mechanically it still works without the door.
