The picture shows this Early Checkers Popcorn Confection Elephant & Monkey Stand Up Tin Prize. This was a prize that came in a box of Checkers.

The Checkers Popcorn product was from the Shotwell Manufacturing Company. It was a very strong competitor to Cracker Jack. So much so that Cracker Jack bought the product outright in 1926. It was continued but eventually phased out.

The stand up Elephant & Monkey prize is made of tin and it is imprinted with red and black ink on a white background. It has a poem on the bottom section that folds over that reads as follows:

CHECKERS
Said The Monk On The Elephant's Back,
I'll Tickle His Nose With A Tack,
Then The Elephant Sneezed,
Fell Down On His Knees,
And The Monkey Fell Off Ker-Whack.

It measures 1-1/2" wide. It is in excellent condition as pictured with wear from the base being bent over, some minor denting, and light surface rust on the back.
