S.S. Prince Rupert   Ship   Digby   Nova Scotia   Canada   Miniature   Advertising   Souvenir   Pitcher   Creamer   Porcelain
The picture shows three views of this Old Digby Nova Scotia Canada Miniature Advertising Souvenir Pitcher. The pitcher is not dated but it is old. This porcelain pitcher has an image of a pier with many people and the S.S. Prince Rupert. There is gold paint on the handle and around the top rim. It is marked under the image as follows:

ARRIVAL OF PRINCE RUPERT, DIGBY, N.S.

The S.S. Prince Rupert was built 1895 on the Clyde (in Glasgow) for the Canadian West Coast trade. A deal was made and the D.A.R. obtained possession of the "Prince Rupert" to be used on the Fundy route. She was a paddle-wheel ship, 160 feet in length and 1125 tons. Her top speed was 21 knots per hour. She was on summer runs only. Fare was $1.50; $2.50 return in September, 1909.

The pitcher measures about 3-3/8'' tall. It appears to be in near mint to mint condition as pictured.
