The picture shows a front and back view of this Old Celluloid Daughters of Veterans Advertising Pin Back Button. The pinback button pictures a badge or medal in the center with the monogramed letters ''DV''. This stands for Daughters of Veterans. That would be Veterans of the Civil War. The name was changed in 1925 to the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War. It is imprinted in blue, gold, and black on an off white background. There is some fancy scroll work along the edge. The paper insert in the back has a Union mark and is marked as follows:

BUTTONS MADE BY
THE WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO.
NEWARK, N.J., U.S.A.
PAT. APRIL 14, 1896
JULY 21, 1896

The pin back button measures 1-1/4'' wide. It appears to be in near mint condition as pictured. It appears that it may have originally had a ribbon attached.
