This was probably pinned inside a soldiers uniform. The metal it is made of is unknown. It has a pin soldered on the back. It has a design at the corners and within an oval it is marked as follows: The Lord watch between me and thee when we are absent one from another. the Sun shall not strike you by day nor cannon fire by night.
