Militia   Soldier   Army   Military   United States   Celluloid   Pin Back Button   Historic   History
The picture shows a front and back view of this Old Militia Soldier Celluloid Pin Back Button With Brass Frame. The colorful image of a man looks like a soldier. He is wearing a hat, shirt, pants, boots, and a red sash. He is holding a rifle and has some objects hanging from his belt. Around the pinback button is an ornate frame. It may be brass, or gold plated. It has not been tested. In the back of the pin is a paper insert but it has wear. This may be an old Civil War Encampment or Veteran pin. A Union mark and two 1896 Whitehead & Hoag Company patent dates can still be seen. Including the frame the pin measures 1-11/16'' wide. It is in excellent condition as pictured.
