| | | | (4) 1950's 1 Pound Deran's Candy Salesman Sample Box Cover Designs in this lot. The second picture shows an insert that comes with each of the four box designs. All four chocolate candy inserts are included in this lot. These could have easily doubled as candy signs. This might be confusing, but these aren't actually boxes here. These are finished box cover designs are enclosed in plastic with the chocolates insert on the other side. These were brought and used by the salesman to sell the candy. It was not necessary to carry the bulky boxes themselves by using these. They are not simply cut box covers. They were made specifically for the salesman. The perishable candy didn't need to be carried either. Each box design has with it a clear image of the candy that will be in each box when ordered. All of these in this lot are from The DERAN CONFECTIONERY COMPANY, INC. of Cambridge, Massachusetts. In my other items you will find other different box designs, different sizes, as well as some candy advertising signs. I have only a very limited amount of these that were recently found.
