The pictures show views of this Colorful ©1884 McLoughlin Brothers History Of The United States Book. Shown are the front and back covers and the (6) colorful graphic plates that are inside. The book is told in one syllable words for children by Miss Josephine Pollard. It was published by The McLoughlin Brothers of New York. The book is inscribed on the first blank page as follows:

The cover pictures George Washington, Native American Indians, Ship, and Christopher Columbus. The back cover has several images including one of a Pilgrim with rifle and pick ax, a Revolutionary War scene, and a Civil War Navy battle scene with the ironclads U.S.S. Monitor and the C.S.S. Virginia (formerly the U.S.S. Merrimack). The color pages have more white space then shown in the scans. The titles of the colorful pages inside are as follows:

COLUMBUS DISCOVERING AMERICA.
THE PILGRIMS FIGHTING THE INDIANS.
THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE.
THE SURRENDER OF CORNWALLIS.
FIGHT BETWEEN THE CONSTITUTION AND GUERRIERE.
THE BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG.

The hard cover book measures 7-1/4'' x 9'' x 3/4''. Over all the book is in good condition. The prints inside and the pages are nice and clean. The cover has wear as pictured. The cover edge is gone but the pages are still connected to the remaining cloth.
