The picture shows a front and back view of all (4) 1800s Sweet Caporal Cigarettes Premium Pretty Lady Trading Cards in this lot. Similar to baseball cards these had once been used as a premium in packages of cigarettes. They are not dated but are believed to be from the 1880s or 1890s. Each has a photograph of a woman mounted on a card. These may be actresses or singers of the day. Each has a name at the bottom of the photo. From left to right they are marked as follows:
LILLIAN LEWIS
MILLE AMZI
MISS BENNEY
CLARA COLMAN
The back of the cards have advertising that reads as follows:
ABSOLUTELY PURE.
THE OLD RELIABLE
SWEET CAPORAL CIGARETTE
HAS STOOD THE TEST OF TIME.
MORE SOLD THAN ALL OTHER BRANDS COMBINED.

The cards vary slightly in size and the largest one measures about 1-1/2'' x 2-5/8''. These appear to be in excellent condition as pictured.
