The picture shows a view of all (6) Old John A. Volpe Republican Political Campaign Pins in this lot. All of these are believed to be from the 1960s. There is one metal pin with an elephant, one Massachusetts state pin, and (4) pinback buttons in this lot. The pin back buttons are identical. They each picture John Volpe and are marked ''VOTE THE MAN - VOTE VOLPE''. To judge the sizes the pin back buttons each measure 1'' wide. These appear to be in near mint and mint condition as pictured. Below here, for reference, is some Historical background information on John A. Volpe that was found online:

''Volpe, John Anthony (1908 - 1994) - also known as John A. Volpe of Winchester, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Born in Wakefield, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, December 8, 1908. Republican. Served in the U.S. Navy during World War II; alternate delegate to Republican National Convention from Massachusetts, 1956, 1960; Governor of Massachusetts, 1961 - 1963, 1965 - 1969; defeated, 1962; resigned 1969; candidate for Republican nomination for President, 1968; U.S. Secretary of Transportation, 1969 - 1973; U.S. Ambassador to Italy, 1973 - 1977. Catholic. Italian ancestry. Died September 11, 1994. Interment at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield, Massachusetts.''
