The picture shows a view of this Old Sunnyside Garden Arena Entance Photograph Slide. The slide is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1950s. This place was located on Queens Boulevard in Queens, New York. There are people out and about that are probably waiting for or just left an event. There are signs on the awning and the building that read as follows:

BOXING TONIGHT
SUNNYSIDE GARDEN
BOXING TONIGHT

AVAILABLE FOR DINNER DANCES

AVAILABLE FOR SOCIAL FUNCTIONS

PARKING
GAS STATION 1 BLOCK QUEENS BLVD.

PUBLIC TELEPHONE

NO STANDING
BUS STOP

MOBIL

The 1951 movie ''Mr. Universe'' starring Bert Lahr, Jack Carson, Joe Sabba Editor was filmed at the Sunnyside Garden Arena. The slide measures 2'' x 2''. It is in mint as made condition.

Below here is some additional information found online about this place:

The Old Sunnyside Garden Arena located on Queens Blvd. and 45 Street, was originally built by the millionaire Jay Gould as a private club catering to the rich Manhattanites who played tennis. In 1945 the building was sold and converted to a boxing arena. Later wrestling matches were produced here in the early days of television. Do you remember a wrestler named ''Gorgeous George''? In 1960 John Kennedy helped make the Garden famous by having a presidential rally here. Due to lack of interest in boxing and wrestling matches from this site, the Garden was rented for teen dance parties and proms. Saturday and Sundays, the Garden was used as a flea market by Charity groups. In 1977, sadly, Sunnyside Garden was sold. The building was torn down and replaced by a hamburger chain.
