The pictures show four views of this Heavy Old Painted Cast Iron Religious Book End. There is only one bookend here. The year that this was made is unknown but it is old. There are no manufacturer markings. It may have come from an old church Library. The gold and black paint are believed to be original. The bookend has a statue of the Virgin Mother Mary. The bookend measures 4'' x 5-3/4'' x 2-1/2''. It appears to be in good condition with old paint wear as pictured. There is some old light writing in crayon or chalk on the back and bottom. We can't make out was it says. We did not attempt to clean it, but it most likely would come off easily if desired.
