The picture shows a view of this Colorful 1941 Downtown Macon Georgia Linen Post Card. This postcard was postmarked from Camp Wheeler, Georgia on April 15, 1941. It has a neatly written message and it was mailed to a Norwich, Connecticut address. It has a green Industry - Agriculture For Defense one cent postage stamp with The Statue of Liberty.

The card pictures a night time Macon, Georgia downtown scene with buildings, old automobiles, people, and advertising signs. Some of the old signs can be read such as ''HOTEL'', ''THE UNION'', and ''CAFETERIA''. It is marked on the front and back as follows:

Macon, ''The Heart of Georgia'' occupies a group of hills overlooking the Ocmulgee River; is on the Dixie, National and Transcontinental Highways; leads all of the cities of the Southeast in volume of commercial and industrial development.

The postcard measures about 5-1/2'' x 3-1/2''. It appears to be in excellent used condition with some corner wear as pictured.
