The picture shows a view of this 1968 U.S. Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island South Carolina Book. This book is for Platoon 1017. They were in training from 29 August 1968 to 4 November 1968 at the Recruit Depot of Parris Island, South Carolina. The cover has the U.S. Marine Corps insignia and the statue of the U.S. Flag raising on Iwo Jima. This hard back book is typical in that it shows many of the activities, training, weapons, and more, plus it has pages filled with images of those in this platoon that were graduating. The book measures about 9-1/8'' x 12-1/4'' x 1/2''. It appears to be in good condition. The cover has a wear spot at the bottom as pictured. At the bottom of the pages there is old mildew and water spotting from years of storage. We found it this way and some of it may be able to be cleaned.
