| | | The pictures show views of this 1941 World War II Ship Yard Sheet Metal Shop Uncle Sam Well Done Christmas Card. This card has a penciled date, December 25, 1941, on the front at the top. The cover pictures Uncle Sam shaking the hand of a shipyard worker with a U.S. Navy ship and a crane in the background. It also has bells, stars, and holly leaves. On the inside is an image of a candle and three stars. It is marked as follows: MERRY CHRISTMAS X-17 WELL DONE! SHEET METAL SHOP X-17 BLDG. 103 The location or what ship yard this is from is unknown, but inside it lists many name including Frank Simon, Master, Chief Quartermen, Quartermen, and Leadingmen. For the names please see the inside of the card pictured. The card measures 4-1/2'' x 6-1/4''. It appears to be in excellent condition with a horizontal center fold as pictured. On the back is some extra pasted paper from it being in a scrap book at one time. |
