| | | | The pictures show views of this 1872 Corning New York Wedding Book With Certificate & Stamp. The small book is entitled ''THE CHRISTIAN MINISTERS AFFECTIONATE ADVICE TO A MARRIED COUPLE''. The book is by Reverand James Bean, A.M. with a letter from the Reverend Henry Venn, M.A.. It was published by the American Tract Society of New York. It has (110) pages filled with advice to a newly married couple. It has a gold embossed cover and binding edge and gold edges on the pages. There is an engraving page with Jesus Christ (pictured) and a filled in marriage certificate attached inside (also pictured). The certificate is for the marriage of a Mr. C. W. Gillette to a Miss. Ada Cutler. The wedding was in Corning, New York, Steuben County on June 25th, 1872. The certificate is signed. There is a George Washington five cent Internal Revenue stamp on the certificate (pictured). The book measures 3-1/4'' x 4-1/4'' x 1/4''. Because it was safely packed away it is in as mint condition as the day it was made. |
