It is made of black plastic and the metal parts are believed to be gold plated. The nib is by Sheaffer's as well and it looks like it may be gold. We are not experts on fountain pens, so rather than risk damage, we have not attempted to fill, use, or clean this pen. Because of this, it will be sold ''as is''.
