Originally it was sold boxed with a buffalo nickel bar of soap in a styrofoam holder. The soap dish could also be used as a cigarette or cigar ashtray. It is made of an unknown nonmagnetic silver colored metal. The center features the raised design of a U.S. Buffalo Nickel. and it is marked on the two sides as follows: THE FIRST BUFFALO NICKEL
