| | | The picture shows a cover and inside view of this Colorful 1940s United States World War II Serviceman Greeting Card. This card is not dated but it was found in some World war II Sailor's Mail. It pictures three U.S. Navy Sailors in uniform. The one on the cover is at a ship's helm. The wheel is die cut and there is gold foil attached and showing through. He is smoking a pipe and there are signal flags behind him. Inside there are two Sailors walking on a pier with a battleship in the background. The card is marked as follows: SO YOU'RE IN THE NAVY NOW! MAY YOU KEEP YOUR SEA LEGS, SAILOR THOUGH THE SHIP MAY ROLL AND ROCK AND YOUR SERVICE IN THE NAVY MEAN A LOT OF JOYS ON DOCK! (signed) Lots of Luck from Uncle Mike & Margaret The closed card measures 4-3/4'' x 5-3/4''. It is in excellent to near mint condition as pictured. |
