The picture below shows several larger views of this Old Unused Charles Louis Napoleon Bonaparte French 5 Franc Coin Pendant Cigarette Lighter. The coin is dated 1870, but we do not know when this lighter was made. The lighter could be used as a necklace pendant or a pocket watch fob. It appears to be made of copper. The pendant slides open revealing a hidden cigarette lighter. One side has an image of Napoleon III, and the other side has a fancy crest with swords, an eagle, a shield, a medal, streamers, and a crown. It is marked on the two sides as follows: NAPOLEON III EMPEREUR B BARRE EMPIRE FRANCAIS 5 F. 1879 With the charm loop, and closed, the lighter measures about 1-1/2'' x 2-1/8'' x 5/16''. It appears to be in near mint to mint unused condition as pictured. The lighter has a new wick, but it will require a new flint, and lighter fluid for use. |
