The pictures show (26) sample views of the (276) images in this 1915 - 1918 Childrens Photo Album. The other photographs that are not pictured are just as nice. Many are of similar images but different poses. The photos are all mounted on heavy black card stock pages that are bound by string. The cover is black and embossed ''PHOTOGRAPHS''. The family photos are in order and many are marked in tiny writing at the lower right with a month and year. They go from 1915 to 1918. The album is not marked but is believed that the family was from the Boston, Massachusetts area. Many of the photos in the album are of the children on early riding toys such as: a wicker baby carriage, a wicker stroller, a miniature wooden carriage, a wooden ''PONY'' wagon, a miniature horse or goat cart, wooden tricycle, a velocipede, bicycle, a snow sled, a wooden scooter, and more. There are images with other items such as: early toy dolls, a Christmas tree with toys, vintage clothing and costumes, a ''SEA SIDE'' tin beach pail, a swing, a canvas porch hammock, a horse, a dog, an automobile, American flags, Red Cross flag, a nurse costume, a knitting bag, a mask, flowers, a ''B. T. Babbitts'' wooden advertising crate, a wooden soap crate, many Victorian dolls, wicker baby doll carriage, Santa Claus wall decoration, umbrella or parasol, baskets, early basketball, Dentist chair, Dentist sign, bassinet, U.S. Navy outfit, top hat, and much more. The photographs are in front of houses, in yards, and at the beach. The young girls are pictured in some costumes including a World War I Nurse, Sailor, top hat & tails, different dresses, hats, a mask, and more. Every time you look at these photos you will see more. They were all well taken and are nicely mounted and arranged in the album. most are full snap shots and some are cropped. Most are only of the children but there are a few posed with their parents or adults. The photos are of all times of the year from the hot days of Summer at the beach, to the cold days of Winter in the snow all bundled up. This is a great album of early 20th century American children. The photographs vary in size up to about 4-1/2'' x 3'' and the album measures 12-1/2'' x 10''. Almost all of the photographs are in mint condition as pictured. Use the many images below to judge the condition. There are some that were purposely cropped and there are a couple of pages that have a cut section. The album cover has some normal wear from handling. |
