The picture shows a close view of this 30th Annual Spanish American War Encampment Watch Fob Or Ribbon Medal. It appears to be made of bronze. I am not sure if this was used as a watch fob or if it originally had a ribbon attached. The back has a recessed area behind the emblem on the right. Within the recessed area on the back it reads: THE WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO. The front has the wording that reads: 30th ANNUAL ENCAMPMENT NEWBURYPORT (Massachusetts) JUNE 1929 There are two circles with raised images in each. The left one pictures a man on a platform or a statue and it reads: GARRISON THE LIBERATOR The left one has the Spanish American War emblem. There is wording both around the edge and on the emblem that reads: UNITED SPANISH WAR VETERANS 1898 - 1902 DEPT. OF MASSACHUSETTS & LADIES AUXILIARY U.S.W.V. It measures 1-3/4" x 1-3/4" and is in excellent condition with some light scratching on the back. |
